A strange bend in Saturn Ring
By: Saadeqa Khan
In our solar system, the planet Saturn loved by everyone because
it is visible to naked human eye, Saturn ring system is the most extensive and complex in the
solar system, having a huge ring of hundreds of thousands of covered area from the planet. It
has about 52 natural satellites or moons and probably expected to be much more to be discovered.
In late 16th century, Galileo found the presence of
pair of objects on both sides of the planet, later when researchers went through more observations these objects
are named as rings A and F respectively. according to a new statement issued by NASA’s media team on July
25, 2016, the two of these rings of Saturn rings appear to be wrapping strangely, the slight
bends are clearly showing in the latest images captured by powerful telescopes.
The researchers were expected that something physical is likely
to have happened with the ring but the out put of their efforts is quite astonishing, this is basically an
optical illusion gone through in space, possibly even far cooler. Saturn would have been the top priority
of researchers because of its strange surroundings, no star is still observed in the snapshots of
Saturn background and the atmosphere of planet is likely to act as a big lens, when light passes through this
lens and further move into space the outcome is a slight bend.
Because of the presence of too much light, NASA’s cameras are not able to capture the plane unless the star and rings necessarily saturated, even then the exposure time interval was quite shorter. The resulting picture that beamed back looks wrapped that is just an optical illusion, The Saturn rings are as flat as ever.
