  The music of Pakistan contains diverse elements ranging music from various parts of south Asia, central Asia as well as Middle Eastern and modern day popular music. With these multiple influences, a distinctive Pakistani sound has been formed that is popular all over the world.
The most notable of them is “Qawwali”, originally rooted back to 700years mostly performed in India at the shrines of Sufis and Saints throughout the India, however, Qawwaali got international exposure by the great work of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali khan, Sabri brothers, and Aziz Mian qawwal, among them Nusrat Fateh Ali has been considered as legend in Pakistani music, besides his extraordinary work in promoting Qawwali throughout the world, he has credited a whole bunch of melodious songs like Ye jo Halka Halka sa saroor ha.., mera sayyan tou ha pardes, ankhiyan Udekiyan.., mast mast do neen.., and many other even more got popular in western countries after his death. Once Jeff Buckley said: whenever I went to the real depths of Nusrat fateh Ali's song, ye jo Halka Halka sa saroor ha.., my personal feelings led me to a new imagination of life, in fact, this is the song that saved my life. The combination of Nusrat Fateh Ali to Indian Bollywood musicians would had been got magisterial ever in the history of Indian music.


Madam Noor Jahan is another seductive vocalist of Pakistan, alias as “Melody Queen”, a part of her sweet heart touching voice, she had a very Alluring and charming personality and even the new generation is in love her mischievous and artistic singing style, she has credited a bit long series of melodious Pakistani filmy songs like,Nighahain milla kar badal jany waly…,chandni retain…,hammari saanson main aaj tk who.., enough to make her out immortal in Pakistan music. Noor Jahan had chanted a whole bunch of heart touching ghazals like Faiz Ahmad Faiz’s mujh sy pehli see mohabbat…, main tery sang kesy chalon sajna …, bring the listener into the real depths of love, everyone must experience once in life.

 

When we talk about Pakistani filmy music, Ahmad Rushdi is a name without whom this arena remain unaccomplished, he and Waheed murad “the chocolaty Hero” duo had been rocked whenever they got combined in a single movie, Koko koreena, akely na jaana hmmy chor kar tum, Ay abr e karam aaj itna baras, are the marvelous songs even far more popular in new generation and they are continuously making the new versions of them out By new editing techniques and vocal effects. A pair of years ago Indian melody queen Shriya Ghoshaal sung Akely Na jaana … that break all previous records of her popular songs throughout the India.



Another unforgettable name in the history of music is Roona Laila, who basically belonged to East Pakistan (Bangladesh),But even after the separation she has millions of her lovers, her ravishing songs like tumhy ho na ho mujh ko tou itna yaqeen ha …, mohabbat jurm ha.., and some of the national songs bring back the listener into the sweet memories of past.



Mehdi Hassan, the king of Ghazal is a singer this description would feel incomplete without citing him out. Mujhy tum nazar sy gira tou rahy ho…, ab k hum bichry tou shayad kabhi khwabo main millain.., mohabbat krny waly kam na ho Gay .., youn zindagi ki raah pr takra giya koe .., a bit lengthy hits list is on his credit, that make him got popular not only in Pakistan but he has millions of his Alluring voice lovers throughout the world. More often he has been competing to Jagjit Singh of India who’s sweet melodious ghazals and songs waft into the eternal depth of life and emotions.
Pakistani music could characterize into several arenas but classical music has got the listener’s concentration into each decade and Ghulam Ali is a remarkable name being popular due to his great work in promoting classical music in western countries as well, though he has credited a whole bunch of melodious ghazals but his real work is kalaam-e-Iqbal and other classical patterns like thumri dadra etc.


Nayyara Noor is considered as the most ravishing vocalist in the history of Pakistani music having a bewitched voice anybody could fall in love with, her first debut was in Pakistani film “Aaena”, had a whole bunch of melodious songs, She has such a sweet innocent voice that got fit even on kids and film makers use her talent thoroughly, but the one and only thing that is far enough to make her immortal in history of music was her album Nayyara sings Faiz Ahmad Faiz, a beautiful collection of Faiz's ghazals she sung in late ninety's. aay jazba-e dil gar mein chaho.., kabhi hum khubsuratthy..,hum k tehry ajnabi kitni  mulaqaton k bad.., unfortunately, Nayyara left her singing career at the palm days after her marriage and there are few of naats and national songs on her credit since then. 

Nazia Hassan, considered as the most favorite female vocalist of Pakistani youth, she along with her younger brother Zohaib Hassan got promoted the pop music in Pakistan in 1990 arena, both bro-sis duo has credited a number of hits Tere mere ese dosti.. zara chehra tou dikhao,however after getting married she chanted individually a bunch of sweet melodies like taae day thally, dhundli raat k …, and the first and last ghazal of her career, Guzer rhe ha khizan ban kay.., unluckily she got diagnosed brain cancer at a very young age that led her to death in few of years that Mourns millions of her fans not only in Pakistan but around the world as well, she is a queen that left her so soon But remain alive in the depths of our hearts forever..!!!
